Boys (The) on Captain Oi
Far too Punk for the pop crowd and too pop for the hardcore Punks, The Boys trod their own Power Pop Punk route and those with open minds and ears (many of whom seemed to form bands!) latched onto them with glee. Prolific in the studio they issued a whole host of classic singles in the wake of the `77 Punk explosion – "I Don’t Care”, "Sick On You”, First Time”, Brickfield Nights” - all short, sharp and instantly catchy whilst their four studio albums flashed by so quickly and quirkily they’d probably all fit on one double CD! Acclaim came years later when German mega Punks covered "First Time” and in Japan, Michelle Gun Elephant had a hit with "Sick On You” forcing the world at large to finally cotton onto the genius that is The Boys.
